Multi-skilled Machine Operators

Taylors Contracting are currently seeking experienced multi-skilled operators. The successful candidate may be required to work across some or all of our operations including but not limited to Quarries, Civil Works, Forestry & Project Work.

Key skills and attributes:

  • Class 2 driver’s license with WTR
  • Proven work history in bulk earthworks, and civil operations
  • Experience operating various machinery such as diggers, rollers, loaders, graders etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to the Health & Safety of yourself and others
  • Prepared to perform physical and manual tasks as required
  • Extremely reliable and dependable
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work both alone and as part of a team

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Due to the continual growth of the company we are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. We are also open to discussing the option of Automotive Mechanics wanting to transfer their skills, and becoming a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.

Key skills and attributes: To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a trade qualified diesel technician with skills in hydraulics, modern diesel engines and related electronics or
  • Be a trade qualified automotive technician, with a keen desire to become a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
  • Hold a class 1 driver’s license
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health and Safety
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills

Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to be a part of our major projects division. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, an equivalent qualification, or a minimum of five years’ experience within the civil engineering and/or the construction industry.

Working on a variety of civil construction projects, you will be well organised, enthusiastic, and determined, while maintaining the highest standards.

About you:

  • The ability to utilise and optimise resources to meet customer and company needs
  • The ability to manage and ensure project operations are run efficiently and are finished to the highest quality within allocated time constraints
  • A sound understanding and knowledge of relevant quality, safety, and environmental standards in the construction industry
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to multitask and to work to tight and competing schedules
  • Previous staff management experience and excellent leadership qualities

Pavement and Drainage Team Members

With several large projects on the horizon, we are looking to expand our pavement & drainage teams. Ideally you will have some experience in civil construction, however we are prepared to provide all training required to develop your skills.

You will be a team player and be prepared to carry out a range of manual tasks, as well as machine operation. This role is working as part of a tight-knit team where reliability and willingness is key.

You’ll bring with you:

  • A minimum of a Class 1 drivers licence
  • A positive outlook, friendly attitude, and willingness to adapt to the work as and where required

Civil carpentry – hammerhand

With several civil projects on the horizon, we are looking for a full-time hammerhand to assist our civil carpenter and progress their career in the Civil Construction Industry.

This role will include assisting with the construction & maintenance of various projects and will include but not be limited to:

  • Foundations works
  • Retaining walls
  • Pre-cast concrete installations
  • Small building construction
  • Roading and civil drainage projects

Our ideal candidate will have basic carpentry skills. You may have even completed a carpentry course. At a minimum you will have previous experience in a manual labouring position. You will be willing to undertake further training to develop your career in the civil carpentry environment.

You’ll bring with you:

  • A minimum of a restricted driver’s licence, and the ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • A positive outlook, friendly attitude, and willingness to adapt to the work as and where required
