Multi-skilled Machine Operators

Taylors Contracting are currently seeking experienced multi-skilled operators. The successful candidate may be required to work across some or all of our operations including but not limited to Quarries, Civil Works, Forestry & Project Work.

Key skills and attributes:

  • Class 2 driver’s license with WTR
  • Proven work history in bulk earthworks, and civil operations
  • Experience operating various machinery such as diggers, rollers, loaders, graders etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to the Health & Safety of yourself and others
  • Prepared to perform physical and manual tasks as required
  • Extremely reliable and dependable
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work both alone and as part of a team

Civil Pipe Layer

The Nelson Contracting division is an integral part of Taylors operations, working across a number of projects in the Nelson/Tasman region. We are seeking a keen individual who has the following skills and attributes or has a genuine passion in our industry and strives for personal growth.

Key skills and attributes:

  • Class 1 driver’s license – Class 2 and WTR is an advantage
  • Previous experience laying stormwater and sewer pipelines both concrete and PVC as well as associated ground infrastructure
  • Have knowledge of reading and interpreting plans and survey set out accurately
  • Prepared to perform physical and manual tasks as required
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Health & Safety of yourself and others
  • Be extremely reliable and dependable
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work both alone and as part of a team

Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Would you like to work for a company where our people matter, and safety is our number one focus? Receive good pay and a minimum of 40 hours per week with regular overtime?

Due to the continual growth of the company, we are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.

Key skills and attributes:

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a trade qualified diesel technician with skills in hydraulics, modern diesel engines and related electronics
  • Hold a class 1 driver’s license
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health and Safety
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Have a willingness to learn and comply with our policies and procedures

This position may require work away from home at times.
